Filters
Vertical Pressure Leaf Filter
Pressure Leaf filters are used in liquid – solid separation maximum upto 5 % solid. Most cases 0.5% – 1% bleaching earth & activated Carbon are mixed with oils to be filtered. If required, the filter media is pre coated with filter Aid to improve the filtrability.
Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filter
Horizontal pressure leaf filters are specifically designed to provide a large filtration area which is the directly result of the shape of its filter leaf elements. The horizontal pressure leaf filter system produces high filtrate clarity after the clarification run. Drum Flakers
Drum Flakers are used to convert molten products into solid in to continuous operation. Molten feed adheres on to the outer surface of rotating drum through feed tray / applicator Roller. To avoid solidification of feed melt on the tray, it is provided with limpet coil or jacketed provision to maintain the heating by steam, thermic fluid or hot water. Drum is internally cooled by spraying chilled / cooling water through spray nozzles. To avoid leakage of cooling water medium, PTFE rope or Mechanical Seal is provided for rotary joint. The product solidifies and after completion of rotation of drum scrapped off the drum surface to form flakes.
Drum Dryers
In a drum dryer a feed containing dissolved solids or slurry carrying suspended solids is poured or gets adhered on the outside surface of a rotating drum and forms a thin layer. The rotation of the drum is adjusted in such a way that the moisture in the feed gets vaporized and a dried thin layer will be scraped off with the help of an adjustable knife in the form of flakes or powder depending on the nature of the dried product. The product gets dried after water / solvent gets evaporated due to internal heating of the drum. The selection of feed mechanisms depends on properties and nature of feed solution.
